Privacy Policy

Arthik is run by VIT Insight Pvt Ltd. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect your information when you use the Arthik web app and related services.

The short version: Arthik sees only what you choose to give it. You can type in a few numbers, upload a statement, or connect your Gmail so Arthik can read your statement emails. We never store the statement documents themselves, only the details read out of them. You can disconnect Gmail at any time, and you can ask us to delete your data or your whole account at any time, with no questions asked.

Account information

• When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile photo.
• We never receive or store your Google password.

Numbers you type in

• The figures you enter yourself, such as what comes in each month, what usually goes out, your EMIs and your goals.
• The choices you make in the app, such as your goals, their order, and how you want Arthik to answer you.

Statements you upload

• The statement file is never stored. It is held in memory only while it is being read and is never written to disk, ours or anyone else's.
• What we keep is the data read out of it: the date, the amount, whether money went in or out, the description as your bank wrote it, the running balance, the account number printed on the statement, and the category we assign.
• We also keep a short record of the upload itself (file name, bank, period covered, number of transactions) so your history makes sense to you.
• If your statement is password-protected, the password is used once to open the file and is never stored or written to our logs.

Statement emails, if you connect Gmail

• Connecting Gmail is optional. If you choose to, you give Arthik read-only access through Google's own permission screen.
• Arthik looks only for statement emails from banks, credit card providers, lenders and investment providers, such as bank account statements, credit card statements, loan statements, and mutual fund or SIP statements.
• It does not read your other emails: personal mail, chats, shopping, promotions or anything you write.
• As with uploads, the statement documents are not stored. We keep only the details read out of them, as described above.
• You can disconnect Gmail at any time, from Arthik or from your Google Account settings. Once disconnected, Arthik can no longer read your mailbox.
• Arthik's use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

What we never collect:

• Your bank or card login details. Arthik never asks for your bank password.
• Your location, contacts, or anything else on your device.

Data retention:

• Statement documents are not retained at all, whether uploaded or read from Gmail.
• Extracted data and the numbers you type in are kept while your account is active.
• You can ask us to delete your data or your account at any time, with no questions asked.
• On deletion, all your data is permanently removed within 30 days.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics and Mixpanel to understand how the website and app are used (pages visited, features used).

• IP anonymization is enabled.
• No advertising cookies are set and no data is used for ad personalization.
• Your financial data is never sent to analytics.
